Botanical name: Thymus serpyllum “Magic Carpet”
Common name: Dwarf Thyme
This gorgeous mini creeping thyme features deep green foliage that makes a striking lawn substitute exploding in late spring with carmine-pink flowers.
Like most Thymes, the leaves are edible whilst the flowers attract butterflies.
As it can tolerate light traffic, a landscaping idea for small backyards is to use Dwarf Thyme in our Plant Tile form as an instant lawn alternative. Additionally, it is edible and can be used in cooking as you would for any thyme.
